I am having a major problem creating .pdf files from within excel on several
computers in our office. All machines are running Windows XP SP2 with Adobe
Acrobat Standard 6.0. Some of the computers were on 6.0.0, some 6.0.1 and
some 6.0.2. All of them were having the same problem, and since the problem
occured I have upgraded them all to 6.0.2. The problem occurs on both Excel
XP/2002 and Excel 2003 (all are running the most current patches/SPs).
Here is the problem:
Just merely selecting the "Adobe PDF" printer from the print list in the
print dialog causes Excel to "encounter an error" and have to restart and
recover my document. This happens every time. If I try to make the PDF
using the "Create PDF" from the PDF menu, it either locks up and I have to
use task manager to terminate excel, or else it comes up with an error
reporting "not enough resources". I have tried rebooting, clearing the
Adobe "Updater" directory, uninstalling and reinstalling Acrobat... and
Finally, I took a brand new machine that we just got in (with Office 2003
oem), loaded up adobe 6.0.2 and still the same problem - and this was on a
brand new machine!
These problems only occur in Excel, I am having no problems in Word, Visio
or anything else.
Any ideas?
Thanks
