Problems saving Word documents to DVD

For some time I have backed up my Word documents by saving
them (after saving them to my hard disk) to a rewritable
DVD disc. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, any disc
placed in my DVD player is refusing to accept any files
with a .doc extension. My DVD player will accept all
other files and seems, otherwise, to be functioning
perfectly as normal.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I might solve this
problem?

Are you actually saving to the DVD or copying from the HD using your
disk-mastering software. If the former, try the latter instead.

Suzanne,

It will not work which ever I do. The DVD simply refuses
to accept, either by saving or by copying, any file with
a .doc extension.

further suggestion.
