Problems sending large files

If I try to send files nearing 1M Outlook times out and tells me it can't
send the email, but, it actually does get sent even though it isn't in my
send box. Then, after I get the error, it can't send any mails at all, no
matter how small, until I reboot the computer.

Can anyone tell me what's happening? Would it have anything to do with me
running McAfee in the background?

You should not use McAfee to scan outgoing mail. Its'a colossal waste of
time. Also, try increasing your server timeout value. It's on the Advanced
tab of your account properties pages.
