I have just bought Office XP and this involved me
upgrading from Outlook Express 6; I went through the
standard process but it simply isn't working -

(i) I'm not receiving mails (if I manually do a
send/receive I get the following error message -

Task 'pop.tiscali.co.uk - Sending and Receiving' reported
error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server rejected your
login. Verify your user name and password in your account
properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The
server responded: -ERR unknown command or bad syntax'.

(ii) The welcome mails sent by you don't appear properly -
see below.

(iii) An 'Enter Network Password' request keeps popping up
(has pre-entered details as follows -

server - 127.0.0.1

User Name - pop.tiscali.co.uk : (e-mail address removed)

Password - ******

- It all looks correct to me, but if I enter 'OK' it just
keeps coming back with the same 'Enter Network Password'
request, and I get the error message in (i) above.
