problems when install groove manager

Hi

I am evaluating ms groove in our organization. We have technet plus
subscription.

I am using:
Windows 2003 Enterprise as domain controller with MS SQL 2005 sp1
installed
Windows 2003 Enterprise x64 - as a groove manager server which connect
to domain controller.

When I try to install ms groove manager in configuration wizard I fill
in the form with ms sql details. Configuration wizard connects and
manages to create a database but task 3 out of 5 fails. When I look at
the logs I can see error: timeout expired. I have windows firewall
disabled the connection to a database is fine (port 1433 responds). I
run out of ideas what to do.

Please help.
Thanks you
Michal

You might want to make sure that your IIS has the proper permissions on the
Groove website. I had similar problems and could not make it work until I
worked out the permission problems in IIS.

With the credentials you used to logon to the front-end machine (where you
launched the manager install) can you go to the SQL server and create a
database?

After the failed install can you look at the gmsDB and see tables or is it
empty? Are there stored procedures installed?

Also what is the load on the SQL server like? Are there other apps using it
or is Groove Manager the only app accessing it?
