problems when sending attachments

I have a client who's having issues when she sends
attachments outside of our department.
She sent 4 documents in one e-mail. When someone outside
the department receives it, the first attachment was fine,
but the 2nd had the content of the 3rd, the 3rd had the
content of the 4th and the 4th would not open as though
there was no content.

This does not happen when she sends internally. However,
if she send the same document both internally and
externally at the same time, if happens to EVERYONE.

Has anyone seen this?
