Problems with ASP.NET (using frontpage 2003)

Hi,

I'm facing a bad situation with whidbey. After installation, frontpage 2003
displays an error message like " - Could not load type 'System.Web.UI.
WebControls.Button'." But the interesting point is that the Button
is displayed at runtime.

I deliberately made an error and noted the following from the bottom of the
page: Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:1.2.30703.4;
ASP.NET Version:1.2.30703.4

Is there any way to tell frontpage to target .NET Framework 1.1 for
compilation and execution?

There is an option in TOOLS | OPTIONS menu with a label titled:

"Default location for ASP.NET control assemblies"

I tried to give the following command:

<Drive name
hidden>:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\aspnet_isapi.dll

But the problem still persists...

Any comments???

whidbey is beta software. I'm not sure why you would even be posting a
question about whidbey on the FrontPage support newsgroup.

You need to report this to the beta news group, if you're a beta tester.
Since Whidbey is a beta there is no way to predict what errors it may cause.
