Problems with Comments

I'm formatting a Word XP file that has had multiple
authors and it seems that the comments feature has
corrupted the file. In one paragraph I removed a comment
and then noticed that all of the headers and footers
disappearred in that section. I can no longer access
headers and footers in that section of the document. Also,
when triple click on that specific paragraph, I can no
longer select the entire paragraph. I can only select to
the point before or after where the comment was inserted.

Is this a known problem and is there a solution???

I think I've solved the problem by accepting all of the
changes that had been marked in track changes. What a
nightmare that whole feature is!!
