In 2007 you need to explicitly add them to cube(s). In PWA select
Server Settings | Cube | Configuration

What do you see?
Do you get an error message?
Have any Data Analysis reports been built?
Is the server trusted?
Is Access Data sources across domain enabled?

Hey Mike...

When Data Analysis view, when I click at Field List, a list of generic
itens appears. none of, for example, project list, actual work, etc
appears.
And there are projects that were published.
Yes, the server is trusted.
And access data sources across domais in also enable.

Lets start from the top
1)In PWA Under Cube Configuration, select each cube (project, resource
task, and assignment) in turn and add custom dimensions (including
task and assignment cubes)
2)Check Cube build settings, confirm the analysis services database
and the Analysis Server (make sure you are not pointing to a
development environment, for example)
3) Build the cube and confirm the cube built successfully?
3)In Manage views, create a new Data Analysis view - select the
correct AS database and select the MSP_Portfolio_Analyzer Cube
4) Display field list, collapse totals, the remaining item will be a
mix of standard system fileds and the configured dimensions from 1)

If this does not work go back to step 2) and remove all custom
configuration and rebuild base cube. Check this is ok. If OK go back
to step 1) and repeat steps
If this does not work there must be some other fundemantal problem to
do with your custom fields - dodgy characters, spaces in field names,
etc interfering with the cube build. You should also try to look at
the cube database using Analysis Services to view definitions and
content directly.

Hello all, and happy xmas

I am having similar problem. My cube is building correctly according
to the build status dialogue box - but when i navigate to the analyser
screen - there is nothing - I have no views!!

I go to create a new view - and choose the Data Analysis type. it
prompts me for Analysis Services Database to be created - but there is
nothing in the list and it will not refresh. Instead it says failed
to connect to analysis services server.

I am at my wits end - if someone points me in the right direction I
will donate £5 Children in Need.

Many thanks

What account are you running Analysis Services under? If using local
account suggest you change to SSPAdmin account

I've got round this now - it was to do with Trusted Domains, and
changing Internet Explorer options on downloading Active X controls.

So much to look out for with this tool...
