Problems with Data Analysis Views

Hi,

I am using Project Server 2007. We have successfully installed the
application using a db server and another server for the project
server. We are able to successfully generate the OLAP cubes from
within PWA. However, when we go to Manage Views to try to create a
new Data Analysis view, there are no analysis services database
displayed, and therefore no cubes. There seems to be some problem
with accessing the database server from within Manage Views because
when I select the Refresh Database List option, I receive an error
saying "cannot connect to the analysis services server". I am logged
in as a domain user, so that shouldn't be a problem either.

Does anyone know what the problem might be or something I could try to
get this connection working?

Are you doing this one the same machine that you built the cube on?

Hi Ben,

I think I figured out the issue. We didn't have OLEDB Provider
installed on the client machine that was trying to access the Cube.
Once that was installed we could connect with no problem. Although my
client isn't too happy about having to put this on every PWA client
that needs to access Data Analysis views.

Hi Todd, that sounds about right. You can deploy the MSI via Group Policy or
other tools.
