Problems with font size on print outs

On several occasions when i have printed out a Powerpoint presentation it
prints oversized fonts on some pages and the text drops off the edge of the
page even though the font looks fine on the screen. Has anyone else
experienced this and if yes how do i rectify it without having to redo each
slide?

Sarah,

that is a printer problem. Your printer does not "know" the font you used
and thus replaces it. Open the File - Print dialog. There's a button
"Properties" in the top left corner next to your printer name. Somewhere
there (where exactly depends on the printer driver) you'll find a setting
for TrueType fonts, which normally defaults to "Use printer fonts". Change
this to "Download fonts into printer". It then should use the same font and
font size as on the screen.

Additionally, you can chech the printer manufacturer's website, whether a
newer driver version is available.

Kind regards,
Ute

Thanks for that. Under the Truetype fonts i can select 'Substitute with
Device Font' or 'Download Soft Fonts'. Am i correct in thinking that the
'Download Soft Fonts' is the option i should select? Do you know why it
affects certain pages only even though the font is exactly the same?

Yes, 'Download Soft Fonts' should be the right selection. If the computer
the presentation is printed from is not the one it is created on, you should
also make sure, that all necessary fonts are installed on it.

Kind regards,
Ute
