problems with holidays --- they aren't showing up

For some reason, the holidays and yearly events are not showing up in my
Outlook Calendar. Christmas, Easter, Independence Day, etc. are not
displaying. I know they were there around 7/4, but now that is even gone.

I use the calendar option to re-insert the holidays, but that doesn't work.
I've done it 3 times to no avail, even though Outlook says that those
holidays are already there. When I go to look, they're not. What is the
deal?
