Problems with home page

Rich

What's the difference between the home page with just the
website address and the home page when using /index.html.
When I view my website www.thenorthroadcc.com I see an
old version of the home page. When I click on home within
this page I get message that page cannot be found (the
hyperlink links to index.htm). However if I go to another
page then click on home I get the most recent home page
with address www.thenorthroadcc.com/index.html. I have
tried editing the page directly and attaching the html
hyperlink to the home page but as I do not think I am
viewing the 'true' home page this does not work.

It means the index.html is not the correct default document (home page) file
name your web site. You need to contact your host.

i guessing here...but maybe you have 2 pages as home page...index.htm and index.html...but you have to use whatever home page your server requires...default.html, default.htm, index.htm, index.html and probably shouldn't have two of the same in the root folder.

if i'm wrong one of the gurus will correct me.

In folder / file view, rename your local Home page to index.html. Let
FrontPage update the hyperlinks.
Publish.
Open the live site and delete the file named index.htm
