Problems with IF function

J

Jig Bhakta

When I try to use the IF function and try to say that if a cetain cell has a
value of N/A, the value of this cell should be 1, otherwise it should be 0:

=IF($J2="N/A",1,0)

However, when I enter this into a cell, it simply writes the entire formula
into the cell as data and doesnt make the cell into a formula cell...help?

Thanks,

Jig.

=IF(ISNA(J2),1,0)

or

=IF(ISERROR(J2),1,2)

or

=--(ISNA(J2))
