Problems with Microsoft word

Joyce Voggl

I'am having problems with Microsoft word, in that I have
been trying to delete a sentence that I typed when I used
insert/picture/word art. Every time I try to delete the
sentence, it won't let me do it, I have tryed to use a
new page, and the phrase appears on the other page. I
that highlited it, gone to edit unto, it is still there.
If I try to hide it and print something else when I print
the page it appears on the same page.

This is really annoying and I think that when a product
is sold, there should be someone or someway to fix any
errors that happen. I have talked to several people who
just keep passing the buck around and telling me to try
this and that, and nothing is working. Even the
microsoft support is not giving me any help. I am
getting a little upset.

Please have the courtsy to at least reply to my email and
help me fix this problem

Thanks

What happens if you start Word in safe mode? Go to Start, Run and type in

winword /a

and press enter. Word will start in Safe Mode. Is the problem phrase still a
problem or has it gone?

I think you'd probably get better answers if your question were clearer, but
here are a few stabs:

1. If you created the WordArt as a watermark, then it is anchored to the
header and will appear on every page. To remove it, View | Header and
Footer, which will allow you to click on it and Delete.

2. I think that (1) covers your problem, but other problems with deleting
text in general are caused by:

a. Having the WordPerfect options enabled on the General tab of Tools |
Options (prevents you from deleting selected text using Delete).

b. Not having "Typing replaces selection" checked on the Edit tab of
Tools | Options (prevents you from deleting selected text using Backspace or
by typing over it).

c. Having Track Changes enabled (causes deleted text to be formatted in
a distinctive way but not removed).
