Problems with Office 2003 SP2

G Sahlström

Hi there

I have been looking at all the posts already on this subject, but I
have yet to find a solution...

I have downloaded manually both the 'Client' and 'Full' files
(automagic download made my computer freeze up). None of them work. I
get the "products are not installed" error message, like several other
posters.

I then checked my Windows installer version: 3.1.4000.2435

Next step was to repair my Office installation. The repair worked fine,
but did not help the situation much.

The logging by the installer follows:

As far as I understand it, the next step would be to start hacking the
registry to sort out the GUID. But isn't registry hacking a very
un-supported activity? In my view it would be much better if Microsoft
actually shipped an update that works... :p

Any insights, hints or generally funny remarks are much appreciated.

Cheers,
/G
