Problems with Outlook after Office 2007 Compatibility Pack Installation

Running Office 2003 and recently installed the Office 2007 Compatibility
Pack. Afterward I'm getting the message "Word is unavailable, not
installed, or is not the same version as Outlook", when creating a new
message in Outlook 2003. It appears that Outlook 2003 believes that Word is
no longer compatible with it. Has anyone seen this before? Any thoughts on
corrective actions?
