Problems with Portfolio Analyzer, PWA viewing, Publishing a project

A

Ahmad Khan

I am facing a couple of problems in MSP 2003. And I am hoping that I
will get some help from this forum. I am a newbie to MSP so please
bear with me:)

1. Portfolio Analyzer cube sometimes works fine and sometimes it
doesnot give access to the users. The error is:

Unable to access the Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Analyzer OLAP
cube.
Possible Cause : The cube has not yet been built, or it is currently
being generated, or you do not have permission to access the cube.

The cube has been successfully built. I have given permissions to the
users. I am not understanding why at times it gives this error and
sometimes it lets the user access the cube!

I have executed pscomplus on the project server. This seems to be the
problem with all the cubes that I have created till yet on this sql
server.Except for one of the cubes, that we are able to access
successfully everytime. I have checked the permissions on that cube,
and they are exactly the same as others. The only difference is that
this cube (that runs fine) is on a different sql server.

2. I can only use one Baseline field in Portfolio Analzyer views. I
need to have access to all the 11 baselines fields. How can I do that?

3. All users are able to acess PWA without any problem. Only one user
is having problems viewing PWA from IE. When she hits the Tasks tab,
she sees Loading Data on her screen, and nothing happens. She has mdac
2.8 on her machine. IE settings are set to allow activex controls from
trusted sites, and to access data sources across domains. She has no
MSN, Yahoo or Google toolbar installed. I have followed KB article
321357 also, but it still doesnot work for her.

4. A Project Manager got the following error for one project plan and
an Admin plan:

SQL Error: Cannot insert duplicate key row in object
MSP_Resource_Baselines with unique index I_MSP_Resource_Baselines.

This error doesnot occur now for the regular project plan, but is
still coming for the admin plan. I do understand that unlike the
duplicate tasks error, this one does not cause any loss of data. But I
am wondering why this error occurs, and how can it be removed. I saw
in one of the messages in the forum that the similar errror with
MSP_Task_Baselines table was a known one for MSP 2002. But I am
wondering if it still holds for MSP 2003 or is there a fix for it?

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Ahmad Khan.
