Problems with the install - MS office 03

I bought a MS Office 03 download. Previously I only had 97 Word and Excel.
After intalling Office it will not let me open any of my Word or Excel files.
It's says cannot find file. I can't save documents either. Right before I
bought the download I had a trial version of Publisher. I deleted that
program and when I used the real version of Publisher it let me save the info
however when I went to go back into the file it says that it says that
Publisher cannot find the file. What do I do to fix this problem?

Could you please post the exact text of the error message you're receiving?

Error messages say:
Publisher cannot find the file you specified. The next dialog box will let
you browse to locate the file on your hard disk or floppy disk.

When I go to open a file that was created with Word 97 it says
Word cannot open this document template.
Then it will say
LisaResume file is unavailable
