Problems with viewing and creating Data analysing views

Hi

In Project server 2007 we have following costruction:

Domain 1 a project server installation with PWA site...

From Domain 1 we can access the analysing services DB and therefor se and
create Data analysing views.

Domain 2 access with forms users (also testet with adomain user)

From domian 2 we cant access the analysing services, get an error when
trying to view or create data analysing views

site is trusted and access data across domains are enabled.

Toni:

Forms Authentication doesn't support the use of the Analysis cubes as this
requires Windows Authentication. I suppose a trust relationship is out of
the question? Can you give the users who need access to the OLAP cubes
accounts in domain 1?

Hi Gary,

we did try following from domain2 logon to the windows logon site and log on
with a domain1 user from domain2 (we used the siteowner/administrator) but
still we got an error when trying to se the data analysis view, and when
trying to create a new view we got following message:
You must have the valid Analysis Services database name and cube name

so when we from domain2 logs on to domai1 with a domain user we have the
same problem.

But it would be possible for us to create windows authentication user on
domain 1 that users access from domain2.

we run the solution as hosted when a client try to find out if PS is the
solution for them.

Toni:

You need to add users to the OLAP group you created for users to access
Analysis services on the domain. I can't tell from your posts if you've
configured this properly.

On domain1 we only have the domain controller and the project/SQL server when
we log on to domain1 (the project server) olap vorks fine both with windows
and forms logon.

we are using the farmaccount who got the rights to analysing sevices and all
the databases, farmaccount is in the administrators and olap groups on the
project/SQL server. olap group is added with rights to analysing services.

and logged on to the domain the views works fine.
