Problems withDownloading Word 2007 Files

I don't know if this is the proper place to post this question but here goes:
Sometimes when I download a Word 2007 .docx document sent via Outlook and
using Webmail, the .docx attachment downloads as a zip file that I cannot use.

Any reason why this happens sometimes and what can I do to correct the
situation?

I have had that same problem and the only solution I have found is to rename
the file after I download it and change the .zip file extension on the end of
the file name to .docx which is the Word 2007 extension.
