Problems?

Is there something wrong with Newsgroups? I have tried three times over the
last few days to send a message and none have appeared!

You will have no trouble followings newsgroups if you do it the right way:
with a newsreader instead of a web interface.

Post back with your version of Windows and anyone here will be glad to tell
you which [free] newsreader to use. Setup instructions are easily found on
the web.

Messages posted via NNTP weren't appearing in the web view for over a week.
That seems to be fixed now.

As you say, I am using a browser to read the messages on Newsgroups. I would
appreciate the information about a newsreader.
Supplementary question - what is the "full USENET designation"?

My version is XP Pro sp3 using IE7 and Outlook Express.

This is specific to the PowerPoint newsgroup:

I was referring to the Office Setup and XP General newsgroups. But as Steve
wrote, there appeared to be a problem for over a week. So my message has now
finally appeared, and given me just one hint, through the XP General group.

Subject is "Extra Language Pack Installation Fails". Still failing! :-((
