Process Flow Shape Auto Numbering

Is there a way to to auto number a group of process shapes in a particular visio drawing? I have several complicated process flow diagrams that I have manually number labeled each flow shape. (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc). As the process is being refined, the process shapes are added, eliminated, and changed around. This means for every iteration of the diagram, I have to go back and re-number each shape to account for the changes. Is there a way to group the shapes and auto-number somewhat like TOC in word?

Check out Tools > Add-ons > Visio Extras > Number Shapes to see if that
helps. The feature has both automatic and manual numbering modes.

How can I number an activity/shape on a circle way "right bottom corner" of the shape? Please find attached.
