Product ID for Word 2004 not accepted for online registration by M

[GT]

I tried to register my Word 2004 (for Mac) software online at Microsoft, but
the Product ID that I used was rejected:

"Invalid Product ID (PID): Please enter a valid PID."

I did, in fact, input the CORRECT Product ID, and NOT the Product Key.

Any ideas?

Registration doesn't do anything except sign you up for the newsletter,
anyhow. To protect your use of the product, duplicate the CD for backup and
write down the license key/Product Key in a few different places.
