I have misplaced my Microsoft Product ID number. I need
to install just Word on another computer. Is there any
way I can get into any of my other computers in which I
have installed this prrocduct on to get the ID code? I
need to type it in when doing a new install on another
computer that has no office products in it at all? Please
help

Assuming you are licensed for two computers... and it's office xp or 2003...
try keyfinder from magical jellybean. aida32 and belarc also list the keys.
Google to find their sites...

OK, that's it, I've warned you twice - this is now going to your ISP - and
I'd like to thank you for making it easy for me by including your real

i normally just lurk here to get my questions answered, but i gotta
jump up and say that you need to take some sedatives or seek
treatment for that personality disorder.

i didn't know that it was illegal or against most isp's terms of
service to post urls in newsgroups. your threats are making me
laugh, and are probably having the same effect on the person you are
threatening.

I never said it was - I suggest you visit the link in question as it is
against the AUP of *ALL* ISPs (at least those I know about and I should
assume every decent ISP in existence) to use their service to aid someone in
committing a criminal act, which piracy certainly is.

Here is the relevant paragraph from 'her' ISP's AUP...

"You may not or allow anyone else to use the Service for any of the
following purposes:
publishing, transmitting, linking to, disseminating or making available in
any way material that encourages conduct that constitutes a criminal
offence, results in civil liability or otherwise breaches any relevant laws,
regulations or code of practice
· committing or attempting to commit fraud or any other criminal offence"

I think posting a link to a site full of stolen serials and installation
codes definitely falls into this category, don't you?

i appreciate and respect your sense of justice, but one thing i've
learned in my nearly 40 years on this rock is that nobody cares. it
is good to have a strong sense of justice. i share that quality
with you. but nobody cares, and more often than not, when seeking
to institute justice, people simply get screwed. it's the nature of
the beast. relax. have a refreshing beverage. enjoy your office
suite. ;)

That's just the problem - no one gives a damn anymore - the world's going to
Hades in a handbasket...Well *I* care - and I buy all my software legally -
and I should hope you do too.

At least I now know that 'simple' means 'uncomplicated', rather than, well,
simple...;o)
