Product Key and Software Activation

Hello,

I was having a problem updating my Office XP and followed
instructions to correct the problem which resulted in
making many registry changes. Now, when I try to
reinstall my copy of XP which was purchased through a
University Software Agreement, it asks for the Product
Key. I don't believe I ever had a product key for this
software and that it simply required me to "activate" it
when I installed it.

Can someone point me in the right direction for getting a
Product Key (or a work around) so I can reinstall my
software?
