product key code

helllllllppppppp!!!!!!!
when i bought my computer it came with microsoft word
2000. now it is broke. i uninstalled it, then when i tried
to reinstall it, it wants a "product code" or something
this is 25 digits long, i dont have this number, microsoft
says they cant help, compaq wants 45 bucks, and the only
other way i can think of reinstalling the damn thing is to
do a complete system restore, which i do not wanna do.
please, please, please someone help me. if you could,
email me? please

The product keycode is on the CD case. If you didn't get this when you
bought the computer, then whoever sold it has given you an unlicensed copy
of Word. Ask for your money back.

The product key code is a 25-digit number located on the
Certificate of Authenticity sticker that came with the
computer. Usually, vendors put this sticker on the hard
drive of your machine. If it's not there, it should be on
the CD case that contains your installation CDs.

The COA on the CPU is usually for Windows. The one for Office will be in/on
the container that the Office CD(s) came in.
