product key from old computer

I had a copy of Microsoft Office that I bought and put on a computer that
completely died recently. I got a new computer but can't find any of the
software CDs from the old computer, including the Office CD and product key.
Is there ANYTHING I can do to get Office on my new computer without having to
buy it again?

not sure....maybe 2000. I thought microsoft might have a record of the
previous activation. I would be completely fine if I could get whatever
version I bought...I'm just a poor, college student and don't want to pay for
it again.

You are up a very famous creek - I mention its name but I'm sure you can
guess.

There is nothing you can do except lay out cash for the software or start
looking for your CDs.
