Jose Salvador

Hello ther can someone help me out.
I bought my computer from DELL like 1 month ago and today when I tried to
use, Office applications (word, excel, etc) the system is asking me for the
product key that is in the bottom of my laptop.
However when I put this the system says that: YOU HAVE NOT ENTER A VALID
PUBLIC KEY, could you help me out.

What should I do?

The Product Key on the bottom of your Dell laptop is for
Windows XP, not Microsoft Office. Please contact Dell
support for assistance with your Office Product Key issue.

The key on the bottom of your laptop is for Windows XP operating system, NOT
office.
If your Office is a Trial version, you must purchase a product key.

Read the error message again... it is not asking for the product
key from the bottom of your laptop, because that is the product
key for Windows XP, not for Office 2003.

My guess is that your computer came with a trial version of
Office 2003, and the trial period has expired, so you are being
prompted to enter a valid product key for Office 2003. When the
trial version of Office 2003 expires, you must purchase the
software if you wish to continue to use it.

Some trial versions can be converted to perpetual versions by
starting Word and clicking on Help | Activate Product | Convert.
You will be prompted to enter your credit card information and
contact information. The full purchase price of the Office 2003
edition will be charged to your credit card, and a product key
will be emailed to you. Although online conversion is
convenient, you may be able to save some money by purchasing a
copy of Office 2003 from your favorite retailer.

Some trial versions cannot be converted to perpetual versions. If
you do not see a Convert option when you start Word and click on
Help | Activate Product, then yours is one of the non-convertable
versions. You can purchase a copy of Office 2003 from your
favorite conventional or online retailer. Be sure to uninstall
the trial version of Office 2003 from your computer before you
attempt to install your purchased version of Office 2003.

Hi Jose - check all the packaging that came bundled in the box. I ran into
the same issue about 2 months ago when I got a new laptop. There should be
a piece of paper that has the key on it. Also, if you got an installation
for Works it might be on the outside of that package as well.

You need to specify what problems you are having with your product key, and
for what product.

For McAfee and Sonic problems, you need to visit their support sites as they
are not part of Microsoft Office.
