product key original, why not being taken in Word setup?

I have the original product key. I entered into the original
setup/installation. It must be entered again when you first activate or use
Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc. It is not working and says I have an incorrect
product key yet it is the same product key used to install?? Help!

Hi Craig,

Check under add/remove to see if you have office 2003 trial version
installed. Uinstall it and then try opening office applications.
