product key

I have no idea if this is the right place to post my
problem or not, but it seemed better than the others. I
took my computer in for repair after it had been affected
by a virus. A new driver had to be installed, but now
microsoft word and other applications will not work
because the product key is said to be invalid. Everything
was acquired legally, and i can't figure out why this
product ID is now not working. If anyone can help me out
with this problem, or could possibly tell me how to fix
it, i would greatly appreciate the help. I really need
the microsoft word for a paper that i have to write, and
a quick remedy would be great. Thank you very much for
any help that you may give to me.

Did your computer get formatted and require Windows to be reinstalled? Are
you now trying to reinstall Word as if for the first time but your product
key doesn't work, or is it already installed but this is an error message?

If you are reinstalling it, the best I can tell you is to read the key
sticker very carefully. I am a PC technician and I often have trouble
reading the key. Sometimes Gs look like 6s and Ds look like Os. It is also
easy to get Os and 0s mixed up.

I wish I could stay up to see if you have any luck, but I'm in the Eastern
time zone and I have to go to sleep.

Good luck,
