Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) I've just purchased office 2008 for mac and put in the product key wrong. I now can't remove it to try again. Can anyone help. I have managed to remove the Ofice PID.plist but can't find this next step shown below.

Select /Users/username/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 settings.plist, and then on the File menu, click Move to Trash.

You'll probably have to consult with the vendor from whom you bought the
product and perhaps get a replacement.

That being said, I can't understand how you decided it's "wrong". They
either work or they don't. So you have "wrong" one that got entered?
Why not just leave well enough alone?

probably because they bought the 3-pack Home edition and have used the
same key twice.

Whhatever the reason, the solution is simple. Launch the Remove Office
application in the Additional Tools Folder in your Microsoft Office
folder. After you launch the application. Press the option key at the
first dialog window and the button changes its name to read "Remove
License Info Only."
