i have recently purchased a new computer. In order to run windows office I
need to give my product key which is on a certificate on the bottom of my
computer. When I do type in the product key I am told that it is incorrect.

"On the bottom of the computer" is pretty inconvenient, isn't it? But
that's not your problem because the product key on the bottom of the
computer is NOT the key for Microsoft Office, that key is for Windows.
The key for Office is located somewhere in the paperwork that came with
the computer. Check everything carefully, don't throw ANYTHING away
until you find the key and if you can't locate it, call the retailer or
manufacturer and ask where they put it.

BTW, did your computer come with Microsoft Works? If it did, the key
might possibly be located on the Works packaging.

windows and office
are two different products
and sold separately and
have two different product
keys.

it's likely your office
is a trial ware. however it
also comes in different
versions too.

sort of like three bean mocha
cappuccino coffee, whereas
1 bean is from Columbia and
the other two from Kenya.

it can be confusing...
