If Office is currently installed on your computer get either Magic
Jellybean or Belarc Advisor, they are both free and will find your key,
Belarc will also give you a lot of other useful information.

no it is not currently installed. Do I need to fork out the $ and contact
microsoft support?

You do need to contact them but one last question, did Office Student and
Teacher come preinstalled on that computer or did you purchase it
separately?
