Product similiar to Microsoft Mail

I have a situation where we would like to implement
INTEROFFICE email similiar to the old "microsoft mail" on
the Windows NT4.0 Platform. We are not interested for
our users to send out their email via POP3 and etc. The
email is used primarily in-house. Currently we have
Windows XP Pro Workstations with a Windows Server 2003
Enterprise Edition. I don't won't to implement Exchange
Server due to it being an overkill. Total users amount
to 13.
