Program Error

I have a word document that I edit every month without any problems. Today,
when I edited the document and tried to save it I got the following error
message:

WINWORD.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will
need to restart the program.

An error log is being created.

I have Word 2000

Open the document, select everything except the last paragraph mark in
the document, and copy and paste into a new document. Save the new
document to a different filename. Try to edit and save the new
document.

Thank you. I did that already and saved as a new document. Do you know what
may have happened to the original document?

The original document apparently became corrupt. It probably wasn't
anything in particular you did to cause it... stuff just happens
sometimes. But in my experience, a Word document that is repeatedly
edited is more likely to become corrupt.
