Programs will not launch since last MS update

Since the vital MS update that was installed last Tuesday I have been unable
to open any MS Office program via the shortcut or the Programs list. I must
find a document and launch it, then the document and program open. I can
click on NEW and get a new document. What must I do to restore the launch
from program click?

Found the answer. Update did effect a reg file. Found it with OPTION 2 of
this link http://windowsxp.mvps.org/slowrightclick.htm With ShellExView I
disables MS Context Menu items then enabled one at a time. For me, the file
was Microsoft.NET RntimeExecutionEngine. Office files launch properly now.
