Can someone clear up the install of Project 2007 and SharePoint Server vs.
Windows SharePoint Services? I know that WSS 3.0 comes with the project
install disk, do I still need to install SharePoint Server also? I have read
as it seems conflicting info one place states install SharePoint first before
Project and another states after.
Thanks,
Norm

During a standard installation, you will:

1. Install the Project Server 2007 bits
2. Install the SP2 bits for WSS and Project Server if your install
media isn't SP2

You do not need to install Microsoft Office SharePoint Server.

The steps (with screenshots) are here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2009.01.project.aspx

In addition to Mark's excellent post, if you are installing on Win2008, then
WSS (or MOSS) needs to be SP2, and it you don't have slipstreamed project
media, then you need to install WSS with SP2 1st in a Farm, and then install
PS2007 into the exiting farm.

Thank you for the great info. Your answers confirm what I thought was
correct. I was just a little confused after reading some documentation that
talked about installing MOSS.
Thanks again,
Norm
