Hello,

I need to run Microsoft Project 2002 Client and Microsoft
Project 2003 Client on same machine. It is necessary for
us to use both MS Project Server 2002 and MS Project
Server 2003. Hower after installation of the MS Project
2003 Client , during publish from the MS Project 2002
Client (of course to MS Project Server 2002) I receive the
following message:

"An error occured while trying to access Microsoft Project
Server.

This could be caused by the following:
- Low memory
- Some components might not be installed or registered
properly on your computer.
- Some components might have become unstable.

Try the following:
- Free up available memory by closing any programs,
projects, or windows you are not using, and then try
againn.
- Reboot the computer."

I am sure that it isn't a memory problem. Is somebody
knows as to start both clients on one computer?

Hey guys -

We are experiencing the same problem as you two. We have
an issue open with Microsoft and are working with them
now. I'll let you know what we find out.

Question: Are you running Windows 98SE or Windows XP? I
have found that this only occurs with Win 98 SE - we are
not getting this error on boxes with XP. How about you?

Thanks,

Why is it that you feel you need both? Just checking.

Hello, Brian

It is because the new division has appeared in the our
company. We have decided to use Project Server 2003 for
it. Other divisions still use Project Server 2002. But
access to both servers is necessary for some employees.

I would use either Terminal Server to host 2002 for your few people
that need both or I would use a Virtual PC type product to allow you to
open a "machine" that had 2002 installed.

It is not a good idea, as you have found, to have them both on the same
machine.

The best long term solution would be to upgrade the others to 2003.

We have considered a variant of terminal servers using if
there will be no more elegant solution. Of course in the
future we plan full transition on Poject Server 2003. But
now we need temporary quick solution

Thanks.

The fastest solution would be to use a product like Virtual PC. It
would be faster than using TS and likely much less expensive
