Project 2003 & 2007 used with server 2003

IT wants to transition to Project 2007 over the next year, 0ne user at a
time. Does this present any problems with the server not moving to 2007 till
2009? Would updating to server 2007 first be better? Is there some paper or
URL that outlines the best way to manage this way of upgrading?
ps this is a second try as I got an error message the first time.

You can only migrate projects gradually. Resources/Users may belong in both
environments until the migration is complete.
