Project 2003: Changing tracking modes in Project Web Access

Dino

Hi all,

We have just upgraded to Project 2003 and Project Server
2003. I have performed config of the Web interface but I
have a problem with the timesheet. Even though I have
asked that it automatically generate the period (Non
Managed periods) and the default method for reporting the
hours worked on each task is set to "Hours of work done
per day per week..." my team can't update the actuals per
day in the right pane of the timesheet. I have searched
high and low and believe I have configured it correctly -
yet the time sheet still defaults to "Actual work done and
work remaining"

Please can anyone provide me with some tips or checks to
make to resolve this?

Much appreciated.

I had similar problem. The cause of my problem that I published Project 1 with the default setting (% of work completed ...) and then changed the setting to actual hours. All the projects published after that took the new setting. The old Project 1 was still at the old setting. I had to delete Project 1 and republish it to use the new setting.

Maybe someon else has a better way of doing this.

Cheers,

Since you have changed your method of tracking progress within Project
Server, you will need to ask each of your project managers to do the
following on each of their projects in the Project Server database:

1. Click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments
2. Click OK

Completing the above steps will reset the method of tracking progress for
the assignments in each project from the old method to your new method.
Hope this helps.
