wonder if you could help with some hints on how to debug my problem further.
I searched a bunch of search engines already.
The symptoms I am seeing are
Start Project 2003 - Splash screen occurs - then behind splash screen get
the message "MS Project stopped working ... due to a problem application is
closed."
In the event log I find (my translation, message is in German)
Error in application WINPROJ.EXE, Version 11.3.2008.1207,
Modul msostyle.dll, Version 11.0.8164.0,
Exception code 0xc0000005,
Error offset 0x00002dc2,
Prozess-ID 0x146c
My configuration is (all German versions):
Base Operating system (Vista Business) newly installed.
Full install of Office 2007
Installed Project 2003 - required since we still have a 2003 server
I am unsure of SP level of Project 2003. When I try to install SP2 or SP3
get the response "no applicable software installed" or so.
And I am unsure if I ever connected in still installation to Project Server
AFTER the latest system re-installation. Believe not. Obvously it did work
in the past on this machine, with this software, but in a different [former]
setup
..
What I have done so far.
Some hints suggest this maybe due to ActiveX controls.
Disabled all. No change.
In the registry deleted all key that pointed to add-ins for
Project 11. Unfortunately no change either
