Project 2003 desktop can nor access the enterprise database

I have about 100 users who can access the Project 2003 server without any
problems. I had 1 user that had a probllem because he was running an Access
Database on his desktop. The problem I'm having now is that I have 1 user
that can access PWA ok but can not access the server from his desktop. I have
checked his trusted sites and about everything I can think of. Has anyone
else expireanced a problem like this or have any reccomandations.

Please provide more information about the exact situation.

Do you mean to say that the user cannot connect to Project Server using
Project Professional?

PS2003 SP1?

What actions is he taking and what are the results?

Have you double-checked the user's permissions?

Thanks for the suggestions - I checked them both and they are OK, the user
has full functionality not only in PWA but also in WSS? And his permissions
are EXACTLY the same as mine, but the other thing I found out is he has an
access database that he added to his computer and I think that may have
something to do with it I am going to try and check that out next.

YES - PWA works ok for him.

A few ideas... none of them certain by any means:

Does this user have any add-in toolbars in his web browser, such as Yahoo or
Google? If so, try disabling them.

Also in the browser, under View > Explorer Bar, ensure that Discuss is not
checked.

Just to confirm explicitly, the user has full functionality not only in PWA
but also in WSS? And his permissions are EXACTLY the same as yours?

Can this user access Project Server through Project Professional when
logging onto another user's machine. Can you or any other project manager
or administrator log on to this users computer with your credentials and log
on through project professional?

Have you tried using the machine name in the URL rather than the full
"apdisprj.sa.aerojet.com". Also, try using the Project Front End Server's
IP address instead. http://[IPaddress]/projectserver

See if any of those suggestions work and this might help narrow down the
issue.

Hi,

I'm having similar issues. Using the server name rather than the URL works.
What exactly is the issue? I'd prefer to use the URL.

I experienced identical problems with a user. I solved them by going into
the Trusted Sites section in IE and changing the default settings for trusted
sites to include "Automatic logon with current username and password" instead
of "Automatic logon only in Intranet zone". I changed a couple of other
settings to resemble mine, but I think that was the important one.
