Project 2003 Enterprise Cost Field default values problem

I am trying to use Enterprise Project Cost1 as a custom defined material cost
field with data to be typed into a milestone task by the PM as the costs are
incurred. The problem is the database has no default value, like 0.00. This
causes Tasks not to be visible in my SQL returned data table because there is
no entry. How do I get the database to return a o.oo when I grab the data
using SQL scripts?

YOu will be getting a message with the current SQL code and a screen print of
the sample project plan with the custom columns.
