Project 2003 Server and Outlook Problem

I am using Project 2003 Server. The server is deployed on a standalone
server in its own Workgroup. I am trying to configure Outlook 2000 with the
Add-in included with Project 2003 server. However, I am not able to login
to import new assignments. I've adjusted the login information to use my
PWA login and password, but I continue to get "invalid username or
password".

The Outlook account is an "Internet Only" account and I'm not connected to
the local network when trying this (because the users won't be either)

Also, I get an authentication problem when including a shortcut within
Outlook to link to the PWA page. However, whenever I use IE to access the
PWA, I have no problems at all.


Any ideas why the authentication is failing within Outlook but nowhere else?

Hi Alan,

When you configure the tool, you will need to set up the username/password
like this:

SERVER\Alan.King

1) Replace SERVER with the name of the server your login name is located on
(i.e. the NT Domain or local login of the Project Server computer).

2) Replace Alan.King with the user name you use to login to SERVER.
