We have had the same problem as many others with the create site
action in Project 2003 (Sorry don't know how to attach the relevent
threads)
After some trial and error we have found the solution.
Basically the error is being caused by errors in the actual project
formatting. We found that the projects that did not create a site and
produced the error, reported an error about a task in the project
being earlier than the project start date.
The fix is this:
Save the offending project to file, delete the project from the
enterprise server. Open the the saved file. Copy and paste the whole
project into a new blank Project page. If there is a problem with the
project then Project will report which line is causing the problem.
Replace the offending task or even delete it, Copy and paste the
project again to a new page again to ensure you have eliminated the
problem. Once you have no errors reported you can then import the
project into the server and the web site will be created.
We have two projects that are being difficult to fix and may need
recreating from the start, all the others have imported successfully
and are now working correctly.
If Anyone knows a better way to fix these conflicts please let us
know.
