Project 2003 shuts down with no error for specific publiched proje

I have been using MS Office Project Server (SP2a) with Ms Project 2003 (SP2)
for over a year to manage and record timesheets. Today when I try to open the
published project, Project 2003 just shuts down without an error message. The
opening project status bar gets about 3/4 of the way before shutting down. I
am
however able to access all the data ok from within SharePoint but the
Collaboration updates can only be done from within MS Project 2003. Other
publichesed projects work fine. We have backups but I'm not sure what I need
to recover? So far I have tried applying hotfix in KB899341 as this seemed to
fix similar problems but no change.

Any ideas?

James,

Do you have a backup of the SQL database from a time when you where not
experiencing this problem ?

If so you can create a new instance of Project Server using EditSite and
attach to the old db. This will enable you to conntect via pro and
export/import into the live db.

I'm not too sure what will happen to actual entered against this project,
would be worth checking in a lab environment first.
