Project 2003

I am new to the project 2003.

I have one project schedule for the period of Jan 2008 - April 2008. The
actual Start and completion of the project was July 2008 - Sep 2008. When I
updating the actual duration, the total project schedule gets changed to the
actual duaration. But I need to show the scheduled and actual period in a
single chart. Kindly let me know the way to get the chart with Scheduled Vs
Actual

Hi Invest

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

You need to create a baseline first, before entering any actual data, then
you can use the Tracking Gantt for comparison. I cover this in my series on
Microsoft Project in the TechTrax ezine, particularly #25 beginning
tracking, at this site: http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc or this:
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMFrame.asp?CMD=ArticleSearch&AUTH=23
(Perhaps you'd care to rate the article before leaving the site, :)
Thanks.)

If you've already filled in all the actuals, I think a way forward would be
to create 2 copies (for safety!) of your project, in one of which you delete
all the actuals. Then create a baseline. Then copy / paste the Baseline
data into your other copy. When all seems correct, then go with that as
your master.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: <http://www.mvps.org/project/>

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
