Project 2007 help

Hi

I have an excel spreadsheet which I would like to plot as a gantt chart
in project, but I cannot figure out how to import it correctly and set
up project to draw the activity bar automatically after import.

My spreadsheet looks something like this:

PERSON START STOP
06-0124523655 11/08/2008 01:16:06 11/08/2008 12:59:38
06-0124523421 11/08/2008 01:16:45 11/08/2008 02:53:35
06-0124523447 11/08/2008 01:16:56 11/08/2008 04:01:57
06-0124523407 11/08/2008 01:19:12 11/08/2008 02:34:38
06-0124523409 11/08/2008 01:19:15 11/08/2008 02:37:04
06-0124523405 11/08/2008 01:19:40 11/08/2008 02:02:49
06-0124523513 11/08/2008 01:22:30 11/08/2008 09:16:26

So what I'd like to do, is use Project to effectively plot those above
times, e.g. a bar that is drawn onto the gantt chart that extends from
1.16am to 12.59pm. I assume the Person field could become the Task
Name....

Please does any one know how I can do this? I've had a good go at this
but just cant quite get it to work. Perhaps there is a better way of
doing it other than using Project? it doesnt have to a project
management software, all I'm really after it the times plotted so any
graphing solution might work for this.

Thanks
Zed

Why not just copy/paste one column at a time? After that you can adjust the
timescale on the Gantt to reflect minutes.... makes for a pretty wide chart.
You can zoom the time scale by right clicking on the scale and select zoom.

Oh, Date formats can be set in Project under Tools/Options/View (tab).
Select one that give you all the desired data.

Assuming you want to create a Gantt chart, arrange the columns in Project to
be Name, Start Finish. Then just Copy and paste from Excel top Project.

Alternatively File, Open
Select file type .xls
OK then follow prompts from the import wizard.
