Project 2007: Save as 2003 format, and password protect?

This may be a newbie quesiton, but here goes...

I have a project created in MS Project 2007. I'd like to save it in a 2003
file format, and password protect it at the same time. When I select
"Microsoft Project 2000-2003" as the "Save as type", then all of the password
fields are disabled when I select tools->general options on the "Save As"
dialogue box. The "Protection Password" box is enabled if I try to save it
as a Project 2007 file type. Does anyone know why this is?

Thanks!

No, but be careful you do not save your only copy of the schedule in 2003
format as there is a bug that corrupts the file occasionally! For now you
will have to open in Project 2003 and password protect there.

However, if your master is always in 2007 format, anyone you send a 2003
version to can change as much as they like: they will just lose all changes
when you send the next version!!
